The Christmas rush is through …and I missed getting neighbor gifts out this year! So what, you say? Well, I’m lucky to have some pretty awesome neighbors, and I love the chance to wish them well. It’s ok – another holiday is just on the horizon, and everyone is still in celebration mode: New Year’s Eve!

This is actually a great time for a neighbor gift. Christmastime comes with an avalanche of goodies and gifts. By the time New Year’s Eve rolls around, we’re not so treat-weary and ready to have one more celebration.

Here’s an easy, fun way to share best wishes with your neighbors at New Year’s.

Easy New Year's neighbor gift - midnight snack cookies with a treat tag.
my Midnight Snacks from a few years back

Midnight Snacks are large cookies individually wrapped in paper CD envelopes, sealed with a fun label. To make them, gather these items:

  • CD sleeve envelopes (you can find them here or here)
  • Avery Labels #8164 (3 1/3″ x 4″) (found here and here)
  • Midnight Snack labels from Seize the Everyday

How To Make Midnight Snacks

To begin, make a list of the neighbors you’d like to treat. Then, tally up the people in the household. You’re going want to have a cookie for each individual. (example: the Smith family has 4 people, so you’re gonna need 4 cookies for the Smiths.)

Now, print your labels. I’ve prepared 6 labels to a sheet. You can find them right here in our Freebie Library. Make sure you’re subscribed so you have access to it, and lots of other goodies!

Visit the Seize the Everyday blog to find a quick, easy New Year's neighbor gift - midnight snack cookies!

Wait until December 31st to stuff your CD paper envelopes with your cookies. (We want those treat envelopes looking fresh when given.) Then, seal them with your label. We like to deliver our Midnight Snacks in the late afternoon of the 31st, before the parties begin.

Once you have your neighbor list/cookie tally, it’s time to get baking! (Or buying, no judgement here….)

I hope you enjoy these easy, fun neighbor gifts. They can be a cute addition to your own New Year’s Eve party as well!

It’s been another interesting year. I just want to say how much I appreciate you! Thanks for your comments and encouragement. Have a safe, healthy and prosperous new year!
