Yeah, there’s a reason this is called LAZY apple crumble. It’s ridiculously easy to make – but it tastes like you slaved all day in the kitchen! Don’t forget the scoop of vanilla ice cream – serve on top of the warm crumble. Enjoy!
1 can apple pie filling
Streusel topping recipe (see below)
Preheat your oven to 400° F. Prepare the streusel topping.
Streusel Topping
1/2 cup sliced almonds, chopped fine
1 cup flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 teaspoons water
6 Tablespoons melted butter
Combine all ingredients into a large bowl.
Cut with pastry cutter, or combine mixture with clean hands.
It will start to resemble a crumble texture. Place aside.
Dump the canned apple pie filling into an ungreased 8 inch square pan (glass pan is okay.) Add the streusel topping. Sprinkle it over the top of the apple pie filling, breaking up any clumps larger than a marble. Place on upper-middle oven rack. Bake until topping is evenly browned and filling is just bubbling at edges, 25 to 35 minutes. Let cool about 10 minutes. Serve warm, and add a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
This is the perfect time to make something apple-y delicious! Thanks for the recipe!
